Roi Et is one of Isan’s oldest cities carrying a long history and retaining a charm and sense of religious, culture, and identity all its own.

There are 20 districts in Roi Et – Mueang Roi Et, Kaset Wisai, Pathum Rat, Chaturaphak Phiman, Thawat Buri, Phanom Phrai, Phon Thong, Selaphum, Suwannaphum, At Samat, Nong Phok, Mueang Suang, Pho Chai, Phon Sai, Moei Wadi, Si Somdet, Changhan, Chiang Khwan, Nong Hi, and Thung Khao Luang.

It is famous for high-quality Thai jasmine rice planting and also known for traditional textiles and wickerwork.

How to go

There are buses from Bangkok to Roi Et in Bangkok’s northern bus terminal (Mo Chit 2) daily.  For more information, call 1490 or go to the website www.transport.co.th
